The world is still turning
The seasons come and go.
My heart is still beating;
Life has its ebb and flow.
The blossoms still open;
The birds still laugh and sing.
My heart can be broken,
But then it sings again.
The children are smiling,
And many others cry.
Some have empty stomachs,
Some hear sweet lullabies.
If you’ve been given good gifts,
Please share them with the world,
And one day love will conquer
All the tragedy unfurled.
This broken world of suffering souls;
So many hurting — it’s out of control.
We need a Savior, a God Who can mend.
We need a Father, Who loves without end.
We need the Spirit, Who gives us the power
To overcome Satan in ungodly hour.
Time to surrender your will unto His.
Let Him live in you, and give you His gifts.
How to hug the world’s pain?
A hug could seem so trite.
To let hope enter in again,
Make heavy burden light?
How to ease the suffering
Of untold millions’ blight?
How to bring a healing balm,
A quiet calm, a lasting peace,
A heart at ease, a healing light?
Oh heavy burden, how to bear?
The Savior’s groan does pierce the air.
