The Peace I Crave
The mighty eagle spreads its wings.
Upon the waves of wind it sings.
Through mountains, valleys, low and high,
It touches earth; it touches sky.
How will I find the peace I crave?
I must be strong; I must be brave.
From worldly rage, beyond control,
I must protect my living soul.
The mighty eagle spreads its wings;
In storm or sun, its call still rings.
Through mountains, valleys, low and high,
Glides undisturbed in raptured sky.

Dolly Parton and Chili
On Saturday, we had dinner at our favorite (Cincinnati) chili place. They serve a lot of other things, but the word “chili” is in the restaurant name.
Since Dolly Parton had passed away four days earlier, the restaurant had a Dolly Parton theme. In evidence were Dolly Parton t-shirts, menu items, cowboy hats, pink balloons and other decorations, and silent videos featuring Dolly Parton were playing on the restaurant screens.
The little I know of Dolly Parton gives me a sense that she was an extremely generous, faith-filled, and delightful person, with a sense of humor, and known for her transparency. May her beautiful soul rest in peace.
