Ignorant

[Jeremiah 29:11, Proverbs 3:5-6]

I don’t understand much,
But I’ve been given a gift —
A gift I didn’t ask for —
Life.

I can’t change my existence,
But what do I do with it?

Yes, it’s a mystery —
My own life history —
And that God has a plan
That I don’t understand.

I don’t understand,
I don’t understand,
I don’t understand …

Plans for my good
And not for harm,
Plans for a future
And a hope.

I must trust in the Lord with all my heart,
And not rely on my own insight.
I must acknowledge Him in all my ways,
And He will make my paths straight.

Who Are You?

Who are You? Divine are You.
A mystery to me.
So great and vast Your universe;
I can but humble be.

Who are You, Who makes the stars
And tender flowers that bend
Under a gently fragrant breeze,
Or continents can rend?

Who are You Who stirs my heart
Though it be calloused with sin?
Who resurrects my deadened soul
And new life brings within?

Who can bring the dead to life
And heal a broken heart?
Who can kindle love within,
When hatred was the start?

Who is He Whom angels sing,
To Whom the great hosannas ring,
Who brings all hope to suffering,
He is the great, the Most High King!
All glory, honor, let us bring!

I Looked Around

I looked around, what did I see?
A person looking back at me.
Was he the I, or I the it,
Was he to me my destiny?

And who am I and who are you?
Our destinies together through
Has God ordained; it must be true.

A myst’ry lies beneath it all,
I do not understand the call.
But still with trust I must go forth;
My circumstances must not force.

Accept, accept, and let it be.
