Casting Out Fear

I looked around
For many years.
I laughed a lot,
Cried many tears.

The loneliness
I could not fathom.
My heart so cold,
An endless chasm.

God’s beauty came
To rescue me.
I cried for joy;
He set me free.

An aching heart,
It comes and goes.
Love’s happiness
Brings many woes.

My love, it hurts,
Brings many tears.
Yet perfect love
Casts out all fear.

Shrinking

Life — beyond my comprehension.
Am I from another dimension?
I give my acquiescence
To those of wiser ways.

Life seems at times nonsensical.
My mindset is impractical.
I go about within a daze
While others, nothing seems to faze.

There’s nothing accidental;
God’s plan sometimes impenetrable.
Yet through it all I see
He has a plan for me.

I must become so small
That it won’t hurt to fall.
So simple I must be,
And humbly I’ll be free.

Wild and Free

Wild horses

Wild and free
Someday I’ll be;
Wind in my hair
And not a care.

To soar so high,
Up towards the sky,
With eagle’s eye
And no more lies.

I’ll run and run,
Out towards the sun.
Thy will be done;
Thy Kingdom come.

But now on earth,
The suff’ring hurts.
Until life’s end,
And to new birth.
